Finally! I have been meaning to do the brakes on the bug(Lupe from now on) ever since I got her. Like I mentioned before, the rear drums are in rough shape and the fronts needed a full rebuild. I ordered most things from cip1 and it all arrived in a few days. I got the following:

| Rotors x2 | VWC-311-405-583-A | CIP1 |
| Bearing kit | ACC-C10-4132 | CIP1 |
| Varga Calipers | VWC-311-615-107-8A | CIP1 |
| Rear brake kit | C10-T16977BK-RR | CIP1 |
| Swingaxle brake lines | VWC-211-611-775-B | CIP1 |
| Dust Plugs | VWC-113-609-163-A16 | CIP1 |

A few must have tool for doing the rear brakes on any aircooled vw are this torque multiplier and this brake bleeder. These two tools make changing the rear brakes a breeze and bleeding even easier.
Since I received the front beam, i figured this would be the perfect time to get working on the front brakes. Installation was pretty straightforward to be honest. I was worried about getting the races and bearings installed, but it was pretty simple. Now i just need to get a new dust cap and some spacers for the calipers, but it’s all buttoned up. Can’t wait to get the rear done and bleed the brakes.

I started working on the rear brakes this weekend. This is a pretty straightforward job as well, the only “real” issue i had was the passenger drum was VERY stuck! I started by spraying it with some penetrating oil and letting it sit for a few hours. I then tried to use a hammer to get it off, but it wouldn’t budge. I ended up using a 3 jaw puller to get it off.
